Quick Panel and Notifications
The Quick Panel has been revamped for easier access to frequently used features. It now has dedicated buttons for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which I think we all can agree are highly used. Also, the Notifications now appear as individual cards, making them more recognizable at a glance.

Lock Screen and Home Screen Customization
One UI 6 allows more freedom in positioning the clock on the lock screen and simplifies app icon labels. The new changes give a cleaner home screen appearance.

Typeface and Multitasking
Samsung also added a new default font, called "One UI Sans," that adds a nice modern touch to the version 6 update. Additionally, the multitasking features have been enhanced to keep pop-up windows open. This change allows more seamless workflow transitions.

Samsung DeX
The new Samsung DeX is now optimized for tablets! The changes released in the One UI 6.0 update, enables a smooth transition between DeX mode and tablet mode, while maintaining the same home screen layout.

Is One UI Required for Android Users?
Actually, unless you have a Samsung device, you cannot install One UI. For users that do have a Samsung device, One UI is installed by default and cannot be removed. One UI offers a lot of enhancements and is built to work along side the base Android operating system on your Samsung device. When comparing two very similar devices and looking to considering if you want to have One UI or not, It’s a matter of preference. Many Samsung users prefer the more custom and personalized experience. One UI really stands out for its design options, while also allowing users to tailor their device’s themes, app icons, and layouts.

Exploring Alternatives to One UI
For those looking to explore beyond One UI, there are alternatives like OxygenOS, which offers a different take on Android skins. OxygenOS is known for its simplicity and elegance, while providing a clean and intuitive user experience. It’s a great option for users who prefer a more basic Android feel, with the added benefit of OnePlus’s thoughtful feature set.

Regardless of your choice, One UI has been statement to Samsung’s commitment to innovation and user satisfaction. It’s not mandatory for Android users, but it certainly elevates the Galaxy experience. For those seeking variety, alternatives like OxygenOS are available, showcasing the versatility of the Android’s ecosystem.

For those choosing to use a Samsung device, look to embrace One UI. As for those looking in another direction, feel free to explore the diverse world of the Android Operating Systems and their skins – choose wisely!
